BigPirate Casino set sail on the market in late 2025. Testing new sweepstakes launches is my favorite part of this job because you see every decision a company made before player feedback had a chance to influence anything. In this review, I cover whether I think this social casino is legit, if any promo codes add to the welcome, and what that raw picture looked like after a week of trials.

Quick Verdict: BigPirate Casino

Best for: Big Lobby Browsers With Low Cashout Tolerance

Although BigPirate just raised its flag recently, it has already flooded its lobby with around 3,000 games, 70 of which are Evolution live dealer titles. Two very big numbers I would not have associated with a site that young. Hats off. Even more valuable to me was what supports that library. With Diamonds, you only need to wager once to get your balance up to the redemption threshold. And the 50 SC threshold is way lower than most competitors ask for, at 75 SC to 100 SC.

Where I think Big Pirate stumbles the most is in its bonus setup. I found 7 reward types in total, the majority of which are tied to events or progression. Staying active is the only way to extract value from them. Adding a referral bonus would be a good idea, as I know that many folks actively look for one to build their balance without the need to deposit.

Summary

Here’s a quick rundown of what I liked when I wrote my first section of my Big Pirate Casino review:

All you need to create an account is to type in your email address and choose a password. I was not asked for my phone number, meaning no phone verification was awaiting me. Instead, a verification link was sent to my email. I clicked on it and was directly redirected into the BigPirate Social Casino lobby.

I was greeted with a super clear dashboard, with all the buttons and screens I needed to help me navigate my first steps.

Another thing to mention in the context of the BigPirate login process is this: There’s a very strong geo-verification system in place that blocks anyone trying to log in from one of the states the operator has banned (CA, CT, ID, LA, MI, MT, NV, NJ, NY, TN, and WA). Make sure you’re not on this list before trying to create an account. It’s not worth losing time in this case.

Now, here’s something that could be considered a con: There’s no two-factor authentication, which could be a deal-breaker for folks with a safety-first mindset.

MegaGame Large scale event Time limited
Tournaments Competitive leaderboard events Rank based rewards

Summary

Big Pirate Casino has seven promotional types to offer. In numbers: 1 sign-up offer, 2 first purchase tiers, 4 recurring event formats, plus tournaments piled on top.

Let’s start with what brings new players to a sweepstakes casino in the first place: the sign-up package. In terms of value, look at the Diamonds (they are the ones that count towards redemption). BigPirate throws a total of two at you. That is a number I found to be enough to get through the full wagering requirement once and familiarize myself with the first step of the redemption process.

Now, let’s take a look at the two purchase sweepstakes bonuses on the table: If you go with Option 1, you’ll pay $9.99 and get 25 Diamonds. Option 2 is pricier at $99.99, but you get 200 Diamonds. Do the math and divide the price by the number of diamonds, you’ll see that the cost per diamond stays pretty consistent.

That’s something to think about because there are some sweeps and social casinos out there that actually lose value when you scale up. For example, you get 10 Diamonds for $9.99, but only 80 for $99.99. So, it looks like the higher tier gives you fewer diamonds per dollar.

Beyond the sign-up bonus and the two intro offers, BigPirate has five ongoing promotions: Spin Rally, Claw Machine, Wheel Of Fortune, Mega Game, and Tournaments. That tells you that you’re not stuck with just one entry bonus, and that they are actually trying to build up a loyal player base.

But it’s pretty clear where their limits are. All of them are progression or rank-based formats. You won’t automatically get fixed value just for logging in anymore. You’ve got to get involved and compete to get something out of it.

Summary

Because the Gold Coins don’t give much to work with if your focus is actual value, it’s worth focusing on that Diamond column. They start kicking in at the second bundle option.

From there, their numbers scale consistently. Example: $4.99 shows five diamonds, $9.99 shows ten, $19.99 shows twenty-one, and so on until $999.99, which shows one thousand.

Good to know: You’ll be able to grab some extra diamonds during daily or weekend boosts. While the $49.99 tier will bring in 50 Diamonds, expect that number to increase to 55 during a sale. While not a huge deal, it still is an extra chance to grab some extra gems. So, my advice is to try and time your purchases during those promotions.

Once you get familiar with all those Diamond activities, you’ll surely also notice that RUM grows, helping you reach those island milestones. Bear in mind, though, that this won’t actually increase your redemption value.

Summary

Now, moving on to BigPirate’s redemption, you need at least $50 worth of Diamonds to make a request. For my first test round, I let my Diamond balance accumulate until it slightly surpassed $50, then I bet the full amount once, since BigPirate requires a 1x playthrough on Diamonds before they can be redeemed.

After I’d risked the amount I had in my Diamond Balance, no extra turnover showed up.

When I continued with my request, I had the same payment methods as before to choose from: Visa, Mastercard, Google Pay, Bank Transfer, and Trustly. My payment method didn’t change when I submitted it.

Summary

Slots carry the absolute weight on BigPirate. Of the more than 3,000 titles the platform offers, over 80% fall into that category, courtesy of studios like Hacksaw, Novomatic, Playson, RubyPlay, and 3 Oaks.

A word to the sweepstakes studios providing the games: There are more than 50 of them, offering a nice mix of high-quality, well-known studios and some lesser-known ones. , like Enjoy Gaming.

Despite being newly launched, I want to give a lot of credit to the big, fat live lobby they managed to build up. I found around 118 live tables, with Evolution Gaming as the main provider.

This accomplishment deserves recognition, because sweepstakes and social casinos are known to have rather small live departments, simply because they are expensive to maintain. All in all, the site actually succeeds in competing with real money gaming sites when it comes to amount and quality of sweepstakes casino games.

Rating Spread Heavy 1-star cluster Mixed sentiment

Summary

After reading through BigPirate’s Terms and their Responsible Social Gameplay Policy, I’ve pinpointed four key points that really impact the risks involved.

First, being inactive can really cost you. If you don’t use your virtual assets for 40 days straight, you risk losing them for good. And if you don’t log in for 60 days, your account will be marked as inactive. If you’re not keeping an eye on your balance, time’s ticking.

Next, I discovered several control tools meant to make playing safer, but they all need some effort from you. There are three main options: limiting your spending, setting a cap on gameplay time, and permanently excluding yourself. To activate any of these, you’ll need to send an email. Once they’re on, they’ll stop you from going over your chosen limit. If you opt for permanent self-exclusion, you’ve got 21 days to cash in any winnings still owed to you.

The third point I want to make is that any kind of dispute handling process is limited. If you decide to file a claim, you must go through individual arbitration only, and your rights to a jury trial are waived. No class action route stands open at this point.

Finally, I searched online to see what people are currently saying about Big Pirate Casino and settled on Trustpilot. Players gave an average rating of 2.5 out of 5 on Trustpilot based on 60 reviews, with many 1-star reviews. But don’t let that throw you off too much. Big Pirate is an incredibly young sweepstakes casino at the time of my review and is still improving its performance. Disgruntled players tend to leave reviews more than satisfied ones.

BigPirate Customer Support Put Through the Test

Help Centre Always accessible On-site support section Categories: General · Promotions · Technical · Account · Purchases · Redemptions
Phone Support ❌ Not listed No phone number available
Ticket Portal ❌ Not visible No backend case tracking shown

Summary

BigPirate helps you out in three main ways: You’ve got 24/7 live chat, email, and a Help Center with predefined categories.

Let’s start with the live chat, the probably most popular support feature. For starters, you’ll find that one in the Help Center header. Once you fill in your name and email, the chat window will spring to life. So, we’ve got our first tool that will be able to give instant support, which is a pro.

Then there’s the email support, which is always the tried-and-true option. You can find the address also in the Help Center, as well as in the Responsible Gameplay Policy. For this BigPirate review, I ran three “email tests,” and the response time averaged two days. It’s not bad, but one reply took three days, which shouldn’t have been the case. But whatever, slips do and can happen.

Then there’s the Help Center itself, which is basically the hub listing all support options and the center of the FAQ section. Now, BigPirate Casino organized the FAQ section into the following categories: General, Bonuses & Promotions, Technical, My Account & Verification, Purchases, and Redemptions.

From what I saw, they are doing a decent job at really trying to address the most common player issues. But the FAQs inside the single sections were a bit too generic and general for my taste.

From a practical standpoint, the 24/7 live chat access is definitely strong on paper. However, keep in mind that all responsible gaming tools, including purchase limits and self-exclusion, can only be activated via email.

And as we just saw, the average email activation time of a few days can be hazardous if a player finds himself in really hot water.  A hotline would help, but, unfortunately, does not exist.

BigPirate vs. Other High-Volume Sweepstakes Casinos

It would be a little silly to compare BigPirate to smaller platforms. With over 3,000 games and more than 118 live tables, it has been the top dog since day one.

That’s why I am comparing BigPirate to other major sweepstakes casinos of a similar size, which you will see in Table 13 below. They’re all about attracting highly active players who care about sign-up bonuses, the number of games, playthrough requirements, minimum redemption amounts, and whether an app exists.

Final Verdict: My BigPirate Online Casino Review

BigPirate review score: 8.7 / 10

Let me put it this way: Having written this entire online sweepstakes casino review and gone through every section myself, I can say that the game lobby is what really sold me on BigPirate.

It’s far from being the norm for a new sweepstakes site to have more than 3,000 games; in fact, most platforms don’t even reach that number gradually or over time.

Let’s quickly stay in the game section, because there’s another huge plus to be found: its live segment is huge. We’re talking over 70 tables, all of which are operated by Evolution, the biggest name in the business.

Let me quickly summarize the remaining main pros.

There are seven promo types in total, with four of them being recurring events. In the Coin Chop, I found that the Diamonds actually scale pretty okay. That’s important since Diamonds are what you need to redeem stuff.

Then, we have a nice redemption mechanic going on, with that 1x playthrough requirement that keeps things uncomplicated.

Then, there’s the 24/7 live chat feature, which, like the game lobby, isn’t always included in the initial setup of a newly launched site.

Now, let’s look at the points I would call clear disadvantages.

First, the list of restricted states is pretty long. BigPirate blocks players from 11 U.S. states, including major player bases like California, Connecticut, and New York.

Then, there’s this really annoying inactivity rule. If you don’t play on Big Pirate for 40 consecutive days, they’ll just take away your funds.  Not just strict, but a hell of a nasty rule, too. Once you add the 60-day no-login flag, and it’s clear that they want all their players to be always active. That’s pushy, and I don’t like it.

Although there are certainly more downsides that could be mentioned, I will conclude with one final weak point connected with responsible gameplay controls. To set purchase or time limits or request permanent self-exclusion, you must activate these tools via email. Forget toggles. It’s all about you having to go the extra mile to protect yourself from potentially harmful behavior.

BigPirate Casino FAQ

Is BigPirate a legit sweepstakes casino?

Yes, BigPirate is a legitimate sweepstakes platform for several reasons. The Terms and Responsible Social Gameplay Policy cover important issues, including states where players are not allowed to participate and the rule that each person can have only one account. To make things fair, Big Pirate checks where the players are. Winners must meet the eligibility requirements to receive their prizes.

Is BigPirate Social Casino a good option for beginners?

BigPirate is easy for beginners. You only need an email and password to register. There is no phone verification, and you can access your account right after confirming the email link. The redemption process is simple: You only need to play a single time to earn a diamond, and you’ll be eligible as soon as you spend $50 or more. The lobby has over 3,000 games, including Evolution live tables. This means that a new player can try out slots and live formats in one place without needing to move between platforms.

What is the minimum redemption at BigPirate?

At BigPirate, you’ll need at least 50 Diamonds to make a redemption, which is the same as $50. Before you can make a request, you have to wager your Diamond balance once. This means you have to play through your balance once. After you complete a single turnover and the balance is $50 or more, you can use the redemption option in the account area.
